Doma is truly a hidden gem nestled in Precita Park. Omakase is the only thing they offer but it's really the only thing you want to eat anyways. The omakase rivals some of the greatest sushi restaurants in SF. A small intimate space, there are only about 12 seats around the sushi bar. A fairyland tree towers in the middle, with the cutest array of lights hanging above. It provided a super romantic ambiance for our date night.
The star though was truly the sushi. Each course/nigiri was delicious, with many of the fish melting in your mouth. They had such sumptuous courses, such as uni on scallop, caviar on chutoro, and truffle on wagyu. With such a small seating, we were also able to chat with the friendly sushi chef. His technique and friendliness was reminiscent of our sushi experience in Japan. I would definitely come back all the time. -

Very casual, homely type of omakase sushi joint that seats about 16-18 all in one U shaped table.
Base was $80, the upgrade takes you to $120 (the extras include a toro hand roll, snow crab, truffle wagyu, and sake)
The meal starts with a couple of warm appetizers and a few small bites. This Omakase provides a very generous quantity of nigiri along with sashimi. In fact it's so much raw fish, I felt uncomfortably full at the end. I thought I'd never say that at an omakase as I've tried many & love sushi, but this one was honestly just a bit too much food. Most of nigiris here were not pre-sauced and the rice was just okay. Quality of fish was pretty decent though. Beer options are limited to Hitachino & perhaps Sapporo, and very few sakes as well.
I'd give this place a high 3. I've enjoyed a few of the other omakase in the city more but overall had a decent time trying it out. -

Incredible sushi. Absolutely delectable. The Uni is consistently amazing and the omakase (chef's choice menu) has so much variety, stimulating every taste bud from salty to sweet to umami to sour. The sushi is creatively and artfully crafted. For example - Hokkaido scallops with uni on top then gently caramelized with a blow torch. Sake wine is given as part of the set menu which is a nice touch. Very friendly family running the restaurant. Great atmosphere. Truly a memorable experience and worth the money!!! I've been twice so far and will keep coming for special occasions. In my opinion this is the best sushi in the Bay Area. Highly recommended.

My SO took me here for my birthday dinner and I absolutely loved every single minute of my experience here. We decided to go with the weekend special with included 12 prices nigiri and 3 pieces sashimi + a bottle of Rei sake.
The service was also really tentative and friendly. But at the same they allowed my SO and I to fully enjoy our meal. Each piece was like a small bite of heaven and the sake paired very well with the whole meal.
At the end of our meal they even surprised me an extra bonus sushi cake with a candle and a little gift bag full of japanese candy. I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to experience an intimate dinner experience! Definitely will be coming back!! -

Amazing food, friendly service, and an omakase experience that is casual and carefree. Set on a quiet street in Bernal Heights, Doma has an unassuming frontage on Precita Park. Inside is a simplistic, slightly-tacky but refreshingly whimsical ambiance, complete with a fake tree in the middle and an 80's / contemporary pop playlist. Having been to a few of these omakase-focused restaurants now, I won't say it's the best taste in SF--that being said, I think the laid back ambiance was my favorite dining experience thus far. The omakase was delicious and great value for the price. The entire restaurant is based on the omakase experience, as every dining seat is a sushi bar seat. I opted for the larger omakase set, and each piece of sushi was fresh and melted in my mouth. Will definitely be going back soon!
